Background
My name is Tochukwu Gloria Orji-Okafor,a Professor of Corporate Governance, Social and Forensic Accounting, and Sustainable Development, and a lecturer in the Department of Accountancy and Finance University of Delta Agbor. I obtained PhD, M.Sc. and B.Sc. (Upper division) in accounting. I also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Banking and Finance option and PGD in Education (PGDE) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.. I am a Chartered Accountant (ACA; ICAN), and a Fellow of Certified National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA). Member of Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM), The Academy of Management Nigeria (TAMN), Fellow Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN) and also a member of many other learned societies.
My research interest is on Environmental Accounting, Corporate Governance, Forensic Accounting and Fraud Management and Sustainable Development. I have published widely in both local and international learned journals, and have presented numerous papers in international conferences held in various countries and Nigeria, as detailed in my CV. I teach Cost and Management Accounting, Environmental Accounting, Corporate Reporting, Financial Accounting and Auditing to both Undergraduate and Post-graduate students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and other universities as a visiting Professor. I rose through rank and files to my present position as a Professor of Accounting.
I have served my University and the Society in various capacities as Post-graduate Coordinator, Students Staff Adviser, Deputy Director Ekwueme Centre for Multi-disciplinary Research (ECMR), Deputy Director Unizik Business Ventures, Member Nnamdi Azikiwe University Junior Staff Disciplinary Committee, a Member of the Committee that Drafted the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Intellectual Property Policy etc.
I am currently the Head, Department of Accountancy and Finance, University of Delta Agbor, Delta State, an Associate Director, Unizik Business School Awka; Team Member, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Centre for Migration Studies; Member, Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) Examination Committee; President, Umueze-Anam Development Union women wing and others too numerous to be mentioned.I am happily married and the marriage is blessed with four children.
